As the name suggests, Swami Sivananda began to walk to he podium in the middle of a roar applause. This was the Shri Padma 2022 award ceremony held in Delhi and Sivananda was a 125-year-old teacher yoga.

Before gathering awards, Yogi from Uttar Pradesh approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat among the audience in the first row and bent in respect, returned by the Prime Minister. Twice.

When Sivananda continued his journey to the podium where President Ram Nath Kovind sat down, he bent twice as much. Once in the middle of the road and again before meeting President Kovind.

The president himself helped the teacher’s yoga and handed him to him Padma Shri Award – fourth highest civilian award from India.

The teacher’s yoga movement wins via the internet. Industrialist Anand Mahindra Tweeted, “Yoga’s strength. Life covering 125 years of dedication! Rahmat and Dignity Swami Sivananda both degraded & inspires. Proud to belong to the country of origin yoga.”

Himanshu Tiwari’s Twitter user wrote, “The extraordinary thing at the age of 125 was still running right without anyone’s support. This is a real power yoga.” Sandiip who left with the handle @indiaunleanhed commented, “seeing this life. Very humble is this great man. There is not besides Shraddha for him.”
