Joe Biden Signs Executive Order On Abortion, Contraception Access In US
US President Joe Biden said the Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the right to abortion was exercise in “raw political power” and signed an executive order on Friday to help protect access to services to end pregnancy.
Biden, a Democrats, was under pressure from his own party to take action after last month’s decision to cancel Roe V Wade, which reversed about 50 years of protection for female reproductive rights.
The strength of the president is limited because US countries can make laws that limit abortion and access to treatment, and executive orders are expected to have a limited impact.
“What we witness is not a constitutional assessment, it is training in raw political power,” Biden told reporters in the White House after quoting many different opinions in the decision.
“We cannot allow the Supreme Court out of control, working together with extremist elements from the Republican Party, to take our freedom and personal autonomy,” he said.
The White House does not openly entertain the idea of reforming the court itself or expanding the nine members’ panels, an option driven by representatives of Progressive Caucus Pramila Jayapal.
In Friday’s speech, Biden instead determined how the rights of abortion could be secured by voters if they voted more pro-selected senators, and recorded the opinion of the majority of the Supreme Court referred to the “political power” of women.
“I don’t think the court, or in this case the Republican party … has instructions on the strength of American women,” he said, adding that he was sure that women would change in the number of records in the November election to restore women’s rights.
He also quoted a recent report that a 10-year-old girl in Ohio was forced to travel to Indiana to have an abortion after she was raped.
“Imagine being a little girl. Just imagine being a little girl, 10 years old. Does anyone believe that?,” He said.
Asked what, precisely it could change for women as soon as the order was signed, Jen Klein, Director of the President’s Gender Policy Council in the White House after that, did not mention the specific name.
“You cannot finish with what executive actions have been done by the Supreme Court,” he said.
However, progressive parliament members and abortion rights groups welcomed executive orders. Senator Elizabeth Warren called it “important first step,” and asked the government to explore every option available to protect abortion rights.
Protecting abortion rights is a major problem for Democratic women, Reuters showed voting, and more than 70% of Americans thought this problem must be handed over to a woman and doctor.
Chairperson of the Republic of the Republic of the Republic of Ronna McDaniel said “Democrats are not related to the American people” after Biden’s statement.
In June, Biden condemned the court’s decision and suggested that the US senators remove the legislative barrier temporarily raising the “Filibuster” of the Senate to restore the rights of abortion. The suggestion was shot down by the helpers to the Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin.
Previously in June, Sumber told Reuters that the White House could not take the brave steps of the abortion access that had been requested by members of the Democratic Parliament, such as court reforms or offering reproductive services in federal land.
On Friday, Biden directed the Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Services to protect and expand access to “drug abortion” approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Experts say the pills used to end the early pregnancy may not be available without a recipe for years.
He also directed departments to ensure that women have access to emergency medical care, family planning services, and contraception, including intrauterine devices (IUDs).
The Supreme Court Decision restores the country’s ability to prohibit abortion. As a result, women with unwanted pregnancies face the choice of traveling to other countries where the procedure remains legal and available, buying abortion pills online, or conducting illegal abortions that are potentially dangerous.
This problem can help encourage Democrats to the election in the mid -November election, when the Republican party has the opportunity to control the congress.
Executive orders Biden also aims to protect patient privacy and ensure safety for cellular abortion clinics on the state border, and direct the formation of task force to coordinate administrative responses to access to reproductive health care.
This decision is expected to have a disproportionate impact on black women and other colored women, who traditionally face extraordinary costs and logistical barriers in obtaining reproductive health care, experts said.
