When will ‘Bullet Train’ be on Netflix?
One of the biggest films to be released in 2022 was a new action film starring Brad Pitt named Train Bullet. This film will be released exclusively in theaters this summer but will also go to Netflix, at least in the US, as part of the new first window deal between Sony and Netflix.
Directed by David Leitch, a new action film will be released on July 15 this year (at one point because it was released in April 2022). This is based on Japanese novels and displays a large ensemble cast.
Starring with Pitt in this film is Joey King (who works with Netflix under the agreement), Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Andrew Koji.
When will Bullet Train be on Netflix?
Details around the first window with Sony have not been fully enhanced. We can use their previous deal with Starz to provide rough estimates about when the bullet train will be on Netflix.
Based on our research, Sony’s film came to Starz between 150 and 223 days after the theater release.
Based on this which would mean that the bullet train would be on Netflix at a certain point between December 2022 and the end of February 2023.
Again, who assumes we will see the same time frame towards this new agreement.
It will then be available at Netflix for a total of 18 months before moving to Disney and in this case, it is likely to head upstream. As a rough estimate, this will be around the summer of 2024.
For the full disturbance of all Sony films that come to Netflix as part of this first-window deal, we track the addition here. Uncharted and Morbius will be the first wave of Sony films that come to Netflix with other titles such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verses are also confirmed to eventually come to Netflix.
Will other regions of Netflix receive Bullet Train?
The possible answer to this is yes even though we don’t have specifics. Netflix in some areas receives a new Sony film on time even though Netflix or Sony promotes any agreement.
Netflix Canada and England received Sony 2 years after their theater release. Case In Point, Fantasy Island released in February 2020 was touched on Netflix CA and England recently in January 2022. It also applies to regions such as Belgium, Greece, Japan, Poland, and South Africa.
That means Netflix in these areas will see the bullet train added around 2024.
